Joel Aasmäe

Joel is one of the co-founders of the first VC funds in the Baltics created in 1999, navigating the nascent ecosystem and the days of the dot.com bubble. Fast forward to today, as a Managing Partner at Trind, Joel is running fund operations and looks into many verticals including fintech, legal tech, and other regulated industries.

Prior to co-founding Trind Ventures, Joel was the Head of the Legal Department at Swedbank. Later, he was one of the co-founders of the LHV Bank, when the Estonian banking industry was in its infancy. He also received an MBA degree from NYU Stern School of Business.

He might be the last person to speak in the room, yet he knows how to act strategically or ask the right questions. This might have made him an Estonian Bridge Champion.
